GCMD Concludes Biofuel Supply Chain Trials with Hapag-Lloyd

The Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) has completed a biofuel supply chain trial with Hapag-Lloyd, marking a milestone in developing a framework for biofuel assurance. This trial involved a B30 biofuel blend using FAME from food waste, tested for quality and emissions abatement. The trial also deployed a new organic-based tracer for verifying biofuel origin, contributing to a framework aimed at ensuring traceability and reducing biofuel adoption barriers.
